Welcome to Dovedale's class page! We are a fun, eager and respectful class of year 4 children, who always try our best. We are taught by Miss Cooper and our teaching assistants are Mrs Bonser and Mrs Whitehead.

Our topic this term is 'Extreme Earth'.

On our first day back, we will be making our own volcano; I can't wait! Throughout our topic lessons, we will be learning about different volcanoes around the world as well as answering the questions:

What are the sections of a volcano?

Where are these volcanoes located?

Why are volcanoes dangerous?'

Throughout our English work, we will be reading 'Escape from Pompeii' by Christina Balit. We will be using the dilemma in this book to write a recount. After that, we will be turning our focus onto non-fiction work and be writing an explanation text on hurricanes.

Im maths, we will be continuing to solve problems and put our work into real life contexts. We will be revisiting multiplication and division, addition and subtraction and we will begin working on fractions.

This term we have started our new times table challenge! Which letter are you working on?

We have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Mr Pickering who is our sports coach. Please make sure that you have your PE kit in school at all times and that all items are named.
